There was no better way for Connector to start; my headphones felt like they were channeling beatific frequencies as Jak Lizard’s vocals reverberated into my ear canals. There must of be a heightened creative bond between, the EP’s sole producer, Krakaur and Jak because the production intensified Jak’s playful bluesy vocals with each song. Whether it was the loop station acoustic vibe from “Jewel”, the jazzy scat/Chicago juke elements on “Malfunction”, or the celestial dance feel of “Own”, Jak and Krakaur were always on the same wavelength. If I had to choose my personal favorites from the Connector EP, it would be the down-tempo James Blake esque “Duu Dwa” and the methodical jazzy build up on “Curious”.
